End of Season Doubles Trophy Tournament
This Saturday, December 5th, sees the End of Season Doubles Trophy Tournament being hosted by JJ's and Fat Albert's.
Signups will be in JJ's (the old Manhattan) from 3-3:45pm and play will begin in both venues as close to 4pm as possible.
Itaewon Pool League members can compete free of charge if they have played 5 or more weeks in the regular season.
Trophies will be awarded to pairs finishing in the top 3 places.
This tournament is seeded so a higher ranked player will be paired with a lower ranked player to negate any superhero pairings. Players will gain or lose ranking points depending on their performance during the tournament.
I hope to see many of you there on Saturday.
Special Message: JJ has very generously offered a 20% discount at his new bar (JJ's) to all pool league members on Wednesday nights for the foreseeable future. This discount is also available this Saturday during the tournament.

The Playoffs - 3rd Round
The next round of the playoffs will take place this Sunday, December 6th at 4pm (unless the captains agree on a different start time).
Championship A has become a straight fight between the top 8 seeds although Friend's and Tomato gave both Potato and Wonky Triangles a few scares on Wednesday night. FUTA pushed Angry Birds all the way before the succumbing 8-7 in a terrific match. In Championship B Sweet Life smoothly made their way past Ballistics and Woodstock beat Troyjans in heartbreaking and controversial fashion. Championship B is now at the semi final stage and all 4 teams will compete in the next two rounds.
The fixtures are as follows:
Championship A
Dolce Vita Angry Birds @ Bull & Barrel Rising Stars
3 Alley Seoul Misfits @ Bulldog Estyle
Sin Bin Potato @ Shenanigans Boomtown Rats
Scrooge Pub Wonky Triangles @ Scrooge Pub Phoenix
Championship B
Woodstock Al Korea @ Bulldog Miss. Q
Dolce Vita Sweet Life @ Phillies Pheasants
There is a clash at Bulldog so captains will have to make arrangements about alternative start times. The very best of luck to all.

Scrooge Pub Phoenix defeated Sin Bin Potato in rather fortunate circumstances after a terrific high quality match. Sin Bin Tomato took care of Shenanigans after a marathon 6 hour battle that ended in the small hours of Monday morning but topping the lot was Fat Albert's Scandal's comeback, trailing 7-2 to King Bar they rattled off 6 games in a row to triumph.
The fixtures are as follows:
Championship A:
Fat Albert's Scandal @ 3 Alley Seoul Misfits
Seoul Pub FUTA @ Dolce Vita Angry Birds
Sin Bin Tomato @ Scrooge Pub Wonky Triangles
Friend's The Pain @ Sin Bin Potato
Championship B:
Dolce Vita Sweet Life @ Bull & Barrel Ballistics
JR BBQ Troyjans @ Woodstock Al Korea
Hopefully Wednesday night's matches can live up to the high standard set on the weekend and of course, the very best of luck to all teams.
