The new season's organisational meeting will take place this Wednesday, June 29th, at Dolce Vita beginning at 7:30pm.
All teams need to supply a name, supporting bar, full contact details and 100,000won deposit.
We will discuss the organisation of the new season and there will be a few proposals to vote on.
There are a number of bars throughout Itaewon who are still looking for teams for the upcoming season. Players who wish to form a new team could do worse than contact Upper Deck, Bulldog and maybe 3 Alley Seoul or King Pub to check availability.

It is 'Finals Night' in the 2016 Winter/Spring IPL Season and it promises to be a cracker.
In Championship A, the final will be an all Scrooge affair after Phoenix rose the challenge and d(r)owned the Rats in a final frame finale. No such drama at Dolce Vita where Wonky Triangles rattled off 7 games in a row to make the Birds even angrier.
*UPDATE* Wonky's urine samples came back clean but the IOC want to test their 'B' samples before clearing them to take part in tonight's final.
In Championship B, the Banana Scrubbers hope they won't slip up taking on the the Pain. They comfortably squashed Tomato on the weekend and Sin Bin simply couldn't ketchup. The Pain declared themselves free and independent as the Kings abdicated without much fight.
In Championship C, Zzyzx walked all over the Runners to set up a meeting with Sweet Life, who incensed Ballistics by taking 5 straight wins to claim an 8-5 win.

Next Friday, June 24th, we will celebrate the end of the IPL Winter/Spring 2016 by having our traditional banquet. Prizes will be awarded, platitudes will be expressed and alcohol will be consumed.
All league members who have competed in 3 separate matches this past season are welcome to join us free of charge. Those who have played in one or two matches can enter for 15,000won and members can bring guests at a cost of 30,000won per head.

There will be an opportunity to sign up for the new season early at the banquet too. Teams can pay a deposit of 100,000won to register for next season.
The finals took place last Wednesday and Scrooge Pub Phoenix eventually took their maiden crown by defeating the resilient Wonky Triangles 8-5. The standard was very high and included 4 special games and Phoenix celebrated by drinking the pub dry...of coke :) Boomtown Rats salvaged some pride, as defending champions, by shooting down the luckless Angry Birds. If only the Angry Birds could play Potato every week!
In the B Championship, Banana Scrubbers felt the Pain by losing the last four frames as JJ's team took the title 8-6. Once again the place for drama was Sin Bin (3 playoff games at that venue all ended 8-7) as Tomato did their best to lose by throwing away a 7-2 lead before taking the final game.
Zzyzx simply strolled to victory in Championship C and taught Dolce that Life wasn't so Sweet. Ballistics simply destroyed Runners in the 3rd place playoff.
Thanks to all teams, and especially the captains, for making this season memorable and, above all, very competitive. Congratulations to all the winners and commiserations to the others (losers sounds too harsh). See you at the banquet.

Yesterday saw our traditional, big money end of season singles tournament take place and it was an enormously eventful affair once again. Some terrific play, great sportsmanship and interesting situations occurred and it was a pleasure witness.
The Lower Bracket crown was claimed by the elated Ha-hyun Park who defeated the new and dangerous Potato signing, Chris Dews. It also featured, possibly for the first time, more special games than the Upper Bracket. Special mention to Denys from Troyjans who completed his first ever 8-ball run against the very obliging Lenny Erickson.
The Upper Bracket saw a Phoenix final with Jang Joon-min exactly some measure of revenge of Bong Bong for beating him into 3rd in the mid-season tournament by claiming the the overall title.

Many thanks to all those who helped with the smooth running of the tournament (Jeff Vandeweerd, Ronan Spillane, Lenny Erickson, Jeff Trageser, Paul Riddle & Jim Dewey - your work was much appreciated)and to the bars themselves (Scrooge Pub, Fat Albert's, Dolce Vita and Shenanigans) for providing superb hospitality.
Today sees round three of the playoffs and the Scrooge and JJ's teams re-enter the fray alongside Shenanigans Banana Scrubbers and Dolce Vita Sweet Life. Wednesday night saw Dolce Vita Angry Birds roast and feast on Potato and Boomtown Rats take out the league winners and favourites All Stars in a titanic battle. The real drama was at Sin Bin as usual, which saw its second 8-7 match of the playoffs as Tomato took all three doubles games to eliminate Scandal. The Kings refused to be FUTAed and put them to the sword and in Championship C Ballistics made the semis without firing a ball in anger and Runners simply had far more stamina than Troyjans.
