The 2nd round of the playoffs takes place tomorrow night and follows some great matches that took place on Sunday. In Championship A, the Scrooge teams both upset the form book to book their semi final places early by defeating Angry Birds and All Stars. Boomtown Rats proved, once again, they don't play doubles in playoffs and Sin Bin Potato edged out Bulldog Estyle in an epic 5 hour match. Championships B & C went largely to form with the seedings more or less working out in the higher seeds favour. On Wednesday King Pub and Bull & Barrel enter the festivities and will no doubt wish to leave their mark on the season.

Wednesday's fixtures are:

Championship A

Shenanigans Boomtown Rats @ JR Pub All Stars

Sin Bin Potato @ Dolce Vita Angry Birds

Championship B

King Pub Kings @ Seoul Pub FUTA

Fat Albert's Scandal @ Sin Bin Tomato

Championship C

Bull & Barrel Ballistics @ JR BBQ The Fire

JR Pub Troyjans @ Bulldog Runners

All the very best of luck to the teams on Wednesday.

Saturday witnessed the final doubles tournament of the season and 26 people put themselves forward for honour, glory and possibility of making new friends. There is always a great atmosphere at these tournaments and those present were proud to watch the rebirth of Lenny Erickson as a force to be reckoned with and witness the emergence of a man who is determined to collect as many trophies as possible this season, namely Ahmed Khan. They defeated the stern challenges of Nick Miller & Kevin Gamad who in turn, rather fortuitously, beat Dominic Johnson & Paulino Torrico. Thanks to all those who help out in the running of the tournament, especially Lenny, Ronan and Mark. Trophies will be presented at the banquet.

1st Place: Lenny Erickson (Shenanigans Boomtown Rats) & Ahmed Khan (JR Pub All Stars)

2nd Place: Nick Miller (Sin Bin Potato) & Kevin Gamad (Bulldog Estyle)

3rd Place: Paulino Torrico (Bulldog Estyle) & Dominic Johnson (Sin Bin Potato)

In addition to all the fun and games at the tournament special congratulations go to Justin 'Mantis' Kim, who won a new Seybert's cue courtesy of the special raffle organised by the IPL and Paul Riddle.

This Saturday, June 4th, sees the End of Season Doubles Trophy Tournament being played at Bulldog & JR BBQ. Sign ups will be in Bulldog from 3pm. Play will start as close to 4pm as humanly possible.

Entry is free to all players who have competed in at least 5 separate matches this season and each player will be randomly paired with a partner. We will partner a higher ranked player with a lower ranked one to avoid mismatches.

There will be raffle at the start of the tournament as Paul Riddle is, rather generously, giving us the chance to win a brand new cue, leather case and a box of chalk (worth a combined total of $300) from Seyberts. You can purchase tickets for the raffle tomorrow night from a member of the executive committee or before the tournament on Saturday. Tickets will be 5,000won each and profits will benefit the league.

I hope to see many of you there on Saturday.
