Come out and enjoy what I think is one of the most enjoyable tournaments of the season.

The Mid-season Singles Trophy Tournament will be held this coming Saturday, March 25th.

It is free to any Itaewon Pool League member who has played at least three matches (3 weeks, not 3 games) this season. Competitors will be divided into two brackets, according to their rankings on the day of the tournament.

The top three finishers of each bracket will be awarded trophies. The tournament will count towards ratings.

Venues:

Lower bracket: JR Pub (signups) and Wolfhound - Finals at JR Pub

Upper bracket: King Pub and JJ's - Finals at King Pub

We hope to see a lot of you there!

We will be holding our mid-season captains' meeting on Sunday, March 26th at 5:00 pm at Shenanigans.

Please make sure that at least one representative from your team attends (and remains at) the meeting. This season, we will be awarding 10 points to each team represented at the meeting. You know, just to spice things up a little.

If anyone has anything they wish to have discussed at the meeting, please post on Off the Break, or contact one of the Executive Committee members prior to Sunday.

My team has a bye this coming week, so I will be going around to all the bars on Wednesday to get free beers, er... I mean, to check in with everyone.

It was brought to my attention that March 18th would not be a good date for a tournament, since it is the Saturday of the Saint Patrick's Day weekend. Apparently, people like to drink on that day, and bars would prefer not to host tournaments on that day. Therefore, please note the changes to the important dates below, marked in red.

Here are the important dates to remember for the remainder of the season:

Saturday, March 25th - Mid-season Double-elimination Singles Trophy Tournament

Sunday, March 26th - Mid-season Captains' Meeting

Saturday, April 1st- Mid-season Double Elimination Blind Draw Doubles Money Tournament

Saturday, May 20th - End-of-season Double Elimination Blind Draw Doubles Trophy Tournament

Saturday, May 27th - End-of-season Double Elimination Singles Money Tournament

Wednesday, June 7th - Last regular-season matches

Sunday, June 11th; Wednesday, June 14th; Sunday June 18th; Wednesday, June 21st - Playoffs

Friday, June 30th - Awards Banquet

Please keep these important dates in mind as we slog through this season.
