As founder of the Itaewon Pool League Bob Denny provided the opportunity for hundreds of players in thousands of matches to enjoy the game of pool. Bob was an active member of the league from 2001 until 2009, when he left Korea to return back to the United States.

A captains meeting will be held October 3, at 5pm, at Dolce Vita. All teams, please make sure your captain or a member of your team is present at the meeting. Attendance will be honored with 1 bonus point which will count towards the end of season team ranking. Captains will receive the agenda for the meeting by email within the next few days.

1. Polly's Lounge Rangers
Polly's Lounge Rangers dropped out of the league after 4 consecutive forfeits. Ruling of points for the teams affected by this was discussed with the following proposals:
1. Teams who were supposed to play Polly's Lounge Rangers would receive average game points from all their other matches through the season
2. Teams would receive average game points from all their other matches through the season or 8 points, whatever is higher
3. Teams would receive the game points which calculate from Polly's Lounge Rangers' average as a loser (5 matches, 22 points, average 4.4 points, opposing teams would receive 11 points)

By majority vote, the captains followed the league executives proposal for awarding average game points from all their other matches through the season or 8 points, whatever is higher, and the match win point.

2. How can Bob Denny be honored as founder of the league
Discussion on ways to honor Bob Denny as the founder of our league. It is understood that several different ways to honor him can and should be taken. The ideas below were confirmed by majority vote of the captains as valid and good ideas:
1. Travelling trophy (trophy resides in the bar of the team who won the championship during the season)
2. Bob Denny Memorial Mid or End of Season Tournament
3. Bob should be entered into the current database with ID #1, and the website should have a memorial page for Bob with his biography and picture (Dabu & Rod will provide the text)
4. Replace the sportsmanship award with the Bob Denny award (criteria and evaluation of the team(s) and/or bar to receive the award to be determined by the league executives)

Other ideas such as establishing a foundation or changing the Itaewon Pool League's name were not supported by the majority of the captains.

3. Playoff brackets for the Summer / Fall 2010 season
Confirmed by majority vote to have the brackets established the same way as last season. This means that the top 16 teams will compete for the Championship, while the lower ranked 11 teams will compete for the Best of the Rest.

4. End of Season Tournament
Discussion on the format of the end of season tournament. Proposals were to have a singles, doubles or mixed doubles tournament, or to have both. Confirmed by majority vote to have a singles tournament, same as last season.

5. Further information to the captains

1. New league executives to be elected for 2011 at the end of season banquet. Nominations should be submitted towards end of the season to the league executives (on the back of the score sheet, by email, or on the Off the break forum)
2. An Image Gallery is now online on the website. Every member of the Itaewon Pool League, who has established his or her login, can upload images to the gallery (refer to the [Help] screen in the upload section)
